Tracker

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Tracker is a device which can be fitted into motor vehicles / trailers / horse boxes and should the item be stolen Tracker are notified, they activate the device which emits a signal which in turn triggers a receiver in police vehicles enabling us to locate your property. Our 4×4 at Lightwater is fitted with a receiver and we often get activations. Tracker is an excellent bit of kit and you can check out them out at www.tracker.co.uk  Tracker can be fitted locally and one such installer is Unique Car and Sound, Guildford Road, Lightwater. Tel 01276 474900. Earlier in 2006 we had a number of burglaries where expensive cars were stolen, the majority of these had tracker fitted and we recovered them all.

Drink drive

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Drink driving is never acceptable and ruins lives. Every year people drink too much at Christmas parties, have accidents and innocent motorists / pedestrians are killed. We will be out there on patrol catching drink drivers. Remember you will go to court, get a heavy fine and lose your driving licence which in turn will affect your family life, job, mortgage, relationships and so forth. Please make use of public transport, taxis and if going out in a group organise someone to be a designated driver.

Christmas time

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

The festive period is a busy time for thieves as they travel round looking to steal anything they can. When shopping in town please ensure your wallet / purse and mobile phone are secure so any pickpockets can’t take them. As the shopping centres get busy so do the car parks and people will be out there looking for vaulables such as phones, wallets and sat navs left on display. Please lock up your valuables. Also, very importantly, please keep your house secure and think about where you leave Christmas presents and in the days after Christmas please don’t tell thieves what you have inside by leaving the packaging to computers, playstations etc out with the rubbish as people do walk round looking at your rubbish.

Theft of tools

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Recently we have had a number of thefts of tools either from building sites of vehicles. The offences have been occuring all across the area, not just within the villages. We have had some good results from our patrols. Sgt Helen Palser arrested two males on Portsmouth Road, Camberley recently having stopped their vehicle and discovered numerous power tools inside for which the occupants couldn’t account for. I had good result having stopped a yellow transit van in Bagshot. There was a large petrol generator inside and we were able to establish it had just been stolen from another van in Bagshot so I arrested both males. In each case these offenders have travelled down from London to commit these crimes. Please can I ask you to be vigiliant and report any suspicious activity to us and if you use power tools for work please make sure they are kept securly locked up and where possible marked with your details.
